Yosemite was a winter wonderland!!!!! This was the first snow fall of the 2009/2010 season. It snowed so low that even Sacramento had snow.

When we started out on the trip, there was not a cloud in the sky. By the end of the day, we waited near the Merced River, at one of the last places to view Yosemite Falls, for the sun to set. There was a golden glow reflecting off the granite all day. It was incredible. There was a pinkish warm glow illuminating the snow, with thin sheets of broken up ice muting the reflections in the river. By the time the sun started to set the cold air had turned even colder and clouds started to form and pour over the edges of the granite cliffs of Yosemite Falls. They turned an intense warm glowing gold, casting shadows on the sheer walls and as soon as it turned to a glorious gold, the sun set and everything turned to a cold gray.
